Past Grant Awards

The following tables list projects funded by the Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust in recent years. The Trust funds Maine-based projects in arts and culture, education, the environment, and historic preservation. Grants are distributed throughout Maine and average around $10,000. The Trust does not normally fund applicants for more than two consecutive years or make grants of more than $20,000.  The search box at the top of each year's grant list can be used to search for keywords, grant amounts, or organization names.

7 Lakes Alliancein support of the Alliance's Youth Conservation Corps, which delivers water-quality centered conservation projects aimed at improving runoff and erosion controls while providing job experience for young people. $10,000
Appalachian Mountain Clubto support the AMC's Maine Woods Community Youth and Environment project , increasing environmental literacy among underserved K-12 students in Piscataquis County and Jackman, while cultivating a love for the region's special outdoor places. In 2020, in addition to offering regular programming, AMC plans to develop and launch a new climate change curriculum for middle and high school students. $7,500
Association culturelle et historique du Mont-Carmelto support restoration of historic painted ceilings in this National Register building in Lille. This will include re-gluing loose plaster and original paint, stenciling and hand painting medallions on ceilings which had been covered with wood and tin panels. $20,000
Augusta Colonial Theaterto aid in rehabilitation of the front faade of the Colonial Theater at 139 Water Street in Augusta. The project will include lead paint abatement, masonry conservation, cast stone repair and mineral painting. $10,000
Bangor Symphony Orchestrato support the Know Your Orchestra voucher program which provides reduced ticket pricing. $5,000
Bates Dance Festivalto support contemporary dance and related community outreach, education and training programs in Maine, expanding offerings in Portland and building new partnerships for community engagement in Brunswick and Freeport. $5,000
Bay Chamber Concerts and Music Schoolto support construction of a new teaching space, including sound-proofing, acoustic paneling, furnishing, storage shelving and outfitting. $5,000

Bowdoin Collegeto support a special Maine Bicentennial exhibition dedicated to the artistic and cultural history of the state.
